Steelwind Nordenham wins major orders for Borkum Riffgrund 3 and Gode Wind 3
The energy group Ørsted builds on steel from Dillinger for the construction of the offshore wind farms Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3. This time, Ørsted is using monopiles that are connected to the wind turbine without a transition piece. 66 foundations, which are up to 100 metres long and weigh around 1,200 tonnes, are being manufactured by Steelwind Nordenham, a subsidiary of Dillinger.
Andreas Liessem, Managing Director of Steelwind Nordenham, says: „With our innovative products and services, we make an important contribution to the sustainable production of renewable energy. The cooperation with Ørsted for the construction of Borkum Riffgrund 3 and Gode Wind 3 proves that Steelwind Nordenham has established itself in the market as a reliable manufacturer of high-quality XL monopiles. We are proud to make a significant contribution to the energy transition with our monopiles, which are made of quality steel from our parent company Dillinger.”
The offshore wind farms Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 are expected to become fully operational by 2024 and 2025. Construction is expected to start in summer 2023.
