Monopiles
Monopiles
Monopile foundations have established themselves as the first choice for offshore wind turbines and are currently the most commonly used foundation type.
Monopile foundations consist of a central support tube which is driven into the seabed. Transition pieces usually connect the monopiles to the wind turbines. Alternatively, the connection can be integrated into the construction of the monopile, making the separate production of a transition piece obsolete. This is known as a single piece foundation or TP-less foundation.
Monopiles and single-piece foundations offer the advantage that they can be installed relatively quickly and no major preparatory work is required. Another advantage is the low maintenance effort after installation.
Steelwind specializes in producing monopiles and single piece foundations in series for water depths of up to 60 meters and beyond. If required, we also advise our customers on design issues and jointly develop customized concepts for offshore wind projects.
