Steelwind Nordenham presents new Commercial Managing Director
Steelwind Nordenham is positioning itself for the future: Korbinian Ott will take over commercial management on 1 January 2026, completing the proven dual leadership team together with Dr. Andreas Liessem. They will work in tandem to further strengthen the company’s progress in a challenging market environment.
Steelwind Nordenham GmbH is gaining a new Managing Director starting 1 January 2026: Korbinian Ott follows Jost Backhaus, who left the company on 1 October 2025. Korbinian Ott was appointed as the new Managing Director by the Supervisory Board of the parent company Dillinger (Aktien-Gesellschaft der Dillinger Hüttenwerke).
“We are excited to be gaining a true offshore wind expert for our management with Korbinian Ott,” said Daniël van der Hout, Member of the Executive Board responsible for sales at Dillinger. “We are confident that he and Dr. Andreas Liessem will guide the company into a successful future together with proven dual leadership.”
Dr. Andreas Liessem will continue to be responsible for the technical business and human resources. As Commercial Managing Director, Korbinian Ott will be responsible for sales, project management and controlling, and he plans to place greater focus on digitalization issues.
Korbinian Ott has been on board at Steelwind Nordenham since 2021 and has helped organize the successful implementation of a number of offshore wind projects during this time in various key positions. He was most recently head of project management and was responsible for processing orders for international customers. Before joining Steelwind, the 40-year-old gained extensive experience in the offshore industry – including as a project manager and in management positions in the maritime sector. He started out in the shipping industry, initially as a nautical officer and later in management and controlling roles.
“The offshore wind industry is currently navigating difficult waters – after a phase blessed with tailwinds, we are now experiencing headwinds due to uncertain market developments and unfair competition resulting from dumping practices from the Asia-Pacific region,” said Korbinian Ott. As a strong team, the company is staying the course. “We focus on quality, reliability and European value creation as our means to advance the energy transition sustainably and fairly. I am eager to take on this responsibility and to help shape the future together with our team.”
